Getting The Most Out Of Your Practice

Updated: Aug 2, 2020

As more teams start to get back into the water it is important to get the most out of the time you get in the pool. Many of the teams that have started back up have changed their practice times to be much shorter in order to accommodate as many swimmers as possible throughout the day. So the question remains how do you make sure that you are making the most of your time in the water? Maybe it's just thinking about one specific detail in your stroke or how many dolphin kicks you are going to do off every wall. For me one thing that I think is important and helps to give every practice a purpose is to pick something that you want to work on and improve over not just that day but also over a long period of time. Being able to pick something to focus on is important because these little details practiced over and over again will help you when you are racing. So whenever you can get back into the pool and however long that time may be. It helps to give that practice a purpose by picking something to focus on.
